Hello everyone, and welcome to the first installment of the new blog of the Columbiana Public Library. I am Jennifer Krawchyk, Adult Librarian, who will be maintaining and posting this blog which I hope everyone will enjoy.

Summer is almost gone, and soon we will be gearing up for fall, football games, and of course, school. Back to school means back to homework, projects, teachers, and of course, back to the library. Back to school isn't necessarily all about kids, however, many adults find themselves going back to school, and I don't mean teachers heading back to their classrooms. One of the "back to school" books I've recently come across is "Back to School: A College Guide for Adults" by LaVerne Ludden. This book is a great resource for all ages of adults looking to go back to school because it is filled with no nonsense advice and easy to understand ideas. For example, the book explains how to choose a career you love, how to select the best college, and even gives tips on financial aid and how to qualify. It also helps adults learn the best way to juggle family, career, and school demands without scaring them off from everything altogether.

Which brings me to....what are YOUR "back to school reads"? They could be children's stories, fiction or nonfiction books, or even a favorite video that reminds you of school days. Since we get a lot of people asking for lists such as these, I'd like to compile your suggestions and post them to this blog. We're hoping to recommend some old favorites and pass on some new ones to all of you.
